The ROOTWAR shop: Shards, cosmetics and crypto payments

Zero pay-to-win, by design

No shop item changes a stat, a success chance, an income or a waiting time. In-game credits (₵) cannot be bought, and neither can rig modules. A player who never spent a cent can become season champion, reach Root in the arena or lead the most powerful crew on the network.

What you buy is how others see you: the colour of your name in the chat and on the leaderboards, the visual effect of your hacks on the map, your avatar frame or a complete theme for your interface.

What the shop offers

• Themes: recolour the whole interface (Amber CRT, Black Ice, Synthwave, Code Red, Gold Protocol, The Void…).
• Hack effects: the particles that burst on every success, seen by you and by players watching the district.
• Avatar frames and node skins: your identity on scans, profiles and in the arena.
• Name colours, up to animated gradients, and titles shown under your name.
• Duel emotes and an Elite pack bundling an exclusive badge, title, frame and effect.

Prices range from 80 to 1,500 Shards depending on rarity (common, rare, epic, legendary). Before buying a theme, the Preview button applies it to the whole game temporarily; for an effect, one click on the thumbnail fires it. Some items are never for sale and can only be earned: the Root theme of the Root tier, end-of-season rewards, the Zero-Day Hunter title.

Shard packs

Prices are shown in the server’s reference currency (euro by default) and settled in cryptocurrency at the current rate. Your very first purchase also earns the Supporter badge, shown next to your name in the chat.

Paying with crypto, step by step

1. Claim your account: guests can browse everything, but a registered account is required to pay, so your Shards can never be lost.
2. In the shop’s Shards ◆ tab, pick a pack and click “Pay with crypto”.
3. Our provider’s secure checkout page (NOWPayments or BTCPay Server) opens in a new tab. Pick your currency: bitcoin, ether, USDT, litecoin and many more depending on the provider.
4. Send exactly the amount shown to the displayed address before the invoice expires.
5. Come back to the game: a window tracks your order live (pending, confirmations, credited). As soon as the blockchain confirms, your Shards appear automatically, with a little celebration.

You can close the tracking window at any time: the confirmation is processed by the server even if you are offline. Your order history stays available in the shop.

Timing, fees and security

Confirmation time depends on the network you choose: seconds to a few minutes for fast networks, often ten minutes or more for bitcoin. Network fees are on you, as with any transaction. A partially paid invoice stays pending, and an invoice not paid in time expires: just create a new one.

On the security side, the game never sees your wallet: payment happens entirely at the provider, and the server only credits your Shards after verifying the cryptographic signature of the payment notification. ROOTWAR will never ask for your recovery phrase or private keys: any such request is a scam.

Spending your Shards

Once credited, your Shards show at the top of the screen. Buy an item from its card in the shop: it is yours for good, and you can equip it, unequip it or change your mind at any time from the shop or your profile. Owned items carry over from one season to the next.
